🎃Halloween Treats, Custom Cakes & Spooky Sweets | The Lanai Cottage Bakery 🧡🖤

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday of the year! From the endless color palettes and imaginative costume ideas to the unexpected creative mashups, there’s so much inspiration to play with. And, of course, I love finding ways to bring a little of that Halloween magic into my home bakery. Because if there’s one thing better than a great costume, it’s a great treat to go with it!

Last year, I whipped up a variety of Halloween cookies, Rice Krispies treats, and cinnamon-inspired goodies (because a little cinn-y magic is always welcome!). This year, the creativity has continued with some especially fun projects, custom orders, and spooky sweets.

🎂 From Stranger Things to Spooky Sweets

One of this year's highlights was a special birthday cake request inspired by Stranger Things! The cake was for Stephen Schneider's son, who plays a featured character Chaplain Steve on NBC's St. Denis Medical.

The birthday boy chose the theme and flavors himself: one layer of red velvet, one layer of Funfetti, with black cocoa buttercream on the outside and vanilla buttercream inside. A little spooky on the outside, a party on the inside!

I love when a custom order gives me the chance to bring someone's vision to life. And when that vision involves a little Halloween-inspired nostalgia, colorful cake layers, and plenty of buttercream? Even better.

👀 Creepy, Cute & Completely Edible

I also had fun getting creative with some classic Halloween characters. After all, Halloween treats should be a little spooky, a little silly, and entirely delicious!

👀Monster Rice Krispies treats: Chocolate sprinkles for that monster-inspired texture and edible eyes to bring these little creatures to life. Some of them looked like they were up to mischief before they even left the kitchen!

👀 Mummy Rice Krispies treats: A little doodling icing created the classic wrapped-up mummy look, finished with edible eyes peeking through the layers. These mummies may be thousands of years old, but they certainly didn't last long!

🕸️ Spooky Sweets for the St. Denis Medical Table Read

Another fun Halloween tradition has been creating treats for the St. Denis Medical table read—a little side gig that's become a staple alongside my crafty adventures!

This time around, the spread included black velvet cake cups decorated with purple, orange, and green sprinkles to capture that unmistakable Halloween color palette. I also made Rice Krispies treats decorated with edible one-eye details and purple-and-green spiderweb designs.

It's always fun to dream up treats that feel festive and playful while adding a little something special to the table. Who says Halloween has to be all tricks and no treats?

🍪The Halloween Baking Isn't Over Yet!

This week, I'm busy fulfilling Halloween cookie orders, and the kitchen is officially in full spooky-season mode!

Whether you're hosting a Halloween party, bringing something sweet to a friend's gathering, or simply treating yourself to a little seasonal indulgence, homemade Halloween desserts are a fun way to make the occasion extra special.

Still looking for last-minute Halloween treats? I'd love to help make your celebration a little sweeter! Take a look at the available goodies and place your order.

🎃 Now It's Your Turn!

What's your favorite Halloween treat? Are you team chocolate, team cinnamon, or team anything with a little spooky decoration? Do you prefer creepy-cute creations or desserts that are downright frightful?

I'd love to hear what Halloween goodies you look forward to every year!

From my kitchen to yours, wishing you a Halloween filled with laughter, creativity, and plenty of sweet treats.

Happy Halloween from The Lanai Cottage Bakery! 🧡🖤
